What is SP processing (special processing)?
Sweatshirts from the 1930s to the late 1960s were primarily dyed with direct and sulfur dyes.
The reason why old clothes fade is thought to be that oxygen in the air combines with the amino acids that hold the dye in place, causing hydrolysis, turning into carbon and decaying.
REMI RELIEF's SP processing reproduces this natural principle, using traditional direct dyes that are then combined with oxygen to fade the dye slowly over a long period of time. The body of the garment is damaged to a certain extent, but unlike processing that involves the addition of chemicals or forcibly dissolving the fabric with bio-based methods, this natural processing gives the garment an appearance that is closest to the damage that occurs naturally over time in vintage clothing, and the more you wear it the more indistinguishable it becomes from real vintage clothing.
